Fire Fighting

Flash Point Method:TOC
Flash Point:=116.7C, 242.F
Lower Limits:3.2, CALC.
Upper Limits:15.3, EST.
Extinguishing Media:APPLY ALCOHOL TYPE OR ALL-PURPOSE TYPE FOAMS BY
MANUFACTURERS RECOMMENDED TECHNIQUES FOR LARGE FIRES. USE WATER
SPRAY, CARBON DIOXIDE OR DRY CHEMICAL MEDIA FOR SMALL FIRES.
Fire Fighting Procedures:DON'T SPRAY POOL FIRES DIRECTLY.A SOLID STREAM
OF WATER OR FOAM DIRECTED INTO HOT, BURNING LIQUID CAN CAUSE
FROTHING. USE SELF-CONTAINED BREATHING APPARATUS AND PROTECTIVE
CLOTHING.
Unusual Fire/Explosion Hazard:NONE.

Accidental Release

Spill Release Procedures:WEAR SUITABLE PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT. SMALL
SPILLS SHOULD BE FLUSHED WITH LARGE QUANTITIES OF WATER. LARGER
SPILLS SHOULD BE COLLECTED FOR DISPOSAL.

Handling

Handling and Storage Precautions:DON'T DRINK ANTIFREEZE OR SOLUTION.
AVOID BREATHING VAPOR OR MISTS. DON'T STORE IN OPENED OR UNLABELED
CONTAINERS. WASH EXPOSED SKIN THOROUGHLY WITH SOAP AND WATER AFTER
USE.

REUSE EMPTY CONTAINERS UNLESS PROPERLY CLEANED. KEEP OUT OF REACH
OF CHILDREN. DO NOT CUT OR WELD NEAR CONTAINER, EVEN EMPTY. OBSERVE
ALL REQUIREME NTS OF PLANT, COMPANY OR GOVERNMENT REGULATIONS.

Exposure Controls

Respiratory Protection:WHERE THE TLV MAY BE EXCEEDED, A NIOSH/MSHA
APPROVED RESPIRATOR WITH AN ORGANIC VAPOR CARTRIDGE AND A DUST/MIST
PRE-FILTER OR A SUPPLIED AIR RESPIRATOR IS RECOMMENDED. EQUIPMENT
SELECTION DEPENDS ON C ONTAMINANT TYPE AND CONCENTRATION, SELECT IN
ACCORDANCE WITH 29CFR 1910.134 AND GOOD INDUSTRIAL HYGIENE
PRACTICE. FOR FIREFIGHTING, USE SCBA.
Ventilation:GENERAL VENTILATION SHOULD BE ADEQUATE FOR NORMAL USE. IF
HEATED OR MISTED AND TLV EXCEEDED, FORCED VENTILATION SUCH AS LOCAL
EXHAUST MAY BE NEEDED.
Protective Gloves:CHEMICAL RESISTANT, SUCH AS NEOPRENE/PVC COATED,
GLOVES RECOMMENDED
Eye Protection:SPLASH-PROOF GOGGLES RECOMMENDED.
Other Protective Equipment:PROTECTIVE CLOTHING IF NEEDED TO AVOID
PROLONGED/REPEATED SKIN CONTACT. SUITABLE WASHING AND EYE FLUSHING
FACILITIES SHOULD BE AVAILABLE IN THE WORK AREA.
Work Hygienic Practices:WASH EXPOSED SKIN THOROUGHLY WITH SOAP & WATER
AFTER USE. CONTAMINATED CLOTHING SHOULD BE REMOVED AND LAUNDERED
BEFORE RE-USE.
Supplemental Safety and Health
NOTE TO PHYSICIAN: THE PRINCIPLE EFFECTS OF ETHYLENE GLYCOL, WHEN
SWALLOWED, ARE KIDNEY DAMAGE & METABOLIC ACIDOSIS. ETHANOL IS
ANTIDOTAL & ITS EARLY ADMINISTRATION MAY BLOCK THE FORMATION OF
